Team Name and History

The Norfolk Mallards(F.K.A Canton Mallards) have had quite the history- but one thing has remained the same Rick LeBlanc as our GM and even head coach for 2 seasons the mallards look to bring in fresh blood on the coaching staff with former player turned coach Gavin Alves leading the bench this season.

The Mallard symbolizes adaptability and resourcefulness, balance and roundedness, family and loyalty. That is everything that we are working towards this season. Building a family on and off the ice with a strong win-over-anything mentality. The mallards competed in the UHL and APHL before transitioning to play in the PPSHL and look to have a successful year 3.

Season Goals and Outlook

The Mallards' goal is simple. Win consistently, step up in play-offs and bring silverware back to the Mallards dynasty.

Right now the Mallards are the underdogs- Once a team to worry about on the schedule has turned into a team that is overlooked but that is why the Mallards believe so strongly in the quest for the cup.

The Mallards are still looking at bringing depth to the roster with a couple big signings this week, the Mallards they are in position to start the season off strong in 2 weeks.

Message to the league

“I already told the boys in the preseason game that I(Gavin Alves)am here for one reason and one reason only, to win a championship and bring hardware back to the Mallards franchise. I am not here to play games- winning is fun.”

We would love to have as many fans as possible at our games and we believe securing the Premier Rink at the New England Sports Village is part of that.
