PPSHL Team Spotlight: Salem Sasquatch

The Salem Sasquatch are ready to storm into the 2025–2026 Power Play Senior Hockey League season with confidence, grit, and plenty of firepower. After a season that showed flashes of dominance but ended with unfinished business, the Sasquatch enter the new campaign determined to make noise in the standings and push deep into the playoffs.

Building on Last Year

The Sasquatch earned respect around the league last season with their physical play, depth up front, and strong home-ice advantage. The Salem Icenter was a tough building for opponents to walk into, and the Sasquatch faithful are ready to raise the energy even higher this year. The team showed they could skate with anyone, and now the challenge will be finding the consistency to turn big wins into a full-season run.

Team Identity

The Sasquatch pride themselves on size, strength, and never backing down from a battle. Opponents know they’re in for a long night when Salem is on the schedule. Expect the Sasquatch to bring a hard-nosed, north-south game this year — but with enough speed and skill up front to capitalize on mistakes

What’s New This Season

Salem has retooled parts of their roster to add more depth scoring and improve special teams. With new faces in the locker room and a strong returning core, the Sasquatch are confident they have the balance to compete with the league’s best. Fans should also look for new team events and community appearances throughout the season, further cementing the Sasquatch as one of the PPSHL’s most exciting franchises.

The Outlook

With a hungry roster, passionate fanbase, and a chip on their shoulder, the Salem Sasquatch enter 2025–2026 as a team to watch. Don’t be surprised if Salem turns heads early and proves to be a serious contender when the playoffs roll around. The Sasquatch are here.

The question is — is the rest of the league ready?

Key Players to Watch

  • Andy Contrada – A proven scorer with a knack for clutch goals, he’ll be leaned on to drive the offense.
  • Cody Woodward – Steady, and smart with the puck, he will set the tone on the back end.
  • Keegan McLaughlin– Goaltending is always key in the PPSHL, and Salem has one of the league’s most reliable netminders coming in as the reigning PPSHL Goalie of the year.
