PPSHL Department of Player Safety Report

Following a comprehensive review of incidents from Game #2 of the PPSHL season, the Department of Player Safety has issued the following discipline:

  • Robert Clerc has been fined for his actions at the 4:20 mark of the 3rd period. Upon review, Clerc should have been assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross-checking.
  • At the 1:01 mark of the 3rd period, Salvatore Safonte has been fined and suspended for one (1) game for instigating and fighting under the five-minute mark of regulation.

  • Also at the 1:01 mark of the 3rd period, Salem’s Cody Woodward has been fined for negative fan interactions.

  • In addition, after review, Salvatore Safonte’s match penalty for kicking has been rescinded. Video evidence determined that the contact occurred as a result of losing balance and falling, leading to incidental contact with the opposing player rather than an intentional kicking motion.

The PPSHL and the Department of Player Safety remain committed to upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship, player accountability, and respect for the game.
