Traenkle, Clerc, and Jackson Power Reapers Past Papermen in 9–2 Rout
October 25, 2025- Olympia Ice Center, West Springfield, MA
The Hudson Valley Reapers lived up to their name Saturday night, slicing through the Holyoke Papermen with a relentless offensive onslaught and a special-teams clinic en route to a 9–2 victory at Olympia Ice Center.
Hudson Valley’s top trio of Taylor Traenkle, Robert Clerc, and Brett Jackson combined for a jaw-dropping 8 goals and 13 assists, completely taking over a game that never felt in doubt after the first period.
The Reapers’ power play came ready to work, converting twice in the opening frame.
At 15:45, Robert Clerc buried a slick cross-ice pass from Taylor Traenkle to open the scoring. Just two minutes later, Traenkle returned the favor, finishing a setup from Kenny Garrett and Trevor Souza to make it 2–0 Hudson Valley.
Holyoke couldn’t find their footing, spending too much time killing penalties. By the end of the period, the Papermen had already taken four minors, setting the tone for a long night in the box.
Hudson Valley’s special teams continued to dominate in the second. At 4:15, Traenkle struck again on the power play—his second of the night—off helpers from Clerc and Ronan McAllister to push the lead to 3–0.
The Reapers kept the pressure on. At 9:21, Brett Jackson found twine at even strength, assisted by Traenkle and Clerc, giving the Reapers a 4–0 cushion.
Holyoke finally answered late in the period when Noah Hemenway ripped a power-play goal off a feed from Danny Loughlin, giving the Papermen a brief spark and trimming the deficit to 4–1.
That momentum didn’t last long, though—Holyoke continued to take costly penalties, including a game misconduct to Kyle Levere at the end of the frame.
The Reapers exploded for five goals in the final 20 minutes, completely putting the game out of reach.
At 2:41, Ethan Bowman joined the fun with a slick finish to make it 5–1. Holyoke’s Christian DiPietrantonio responded with an even-strength tally at 7:03, assisted by Luke Bonavita and Loughlin, but that was as close as the Papermen would get.
From there, the Hudson Valley top line went full throttle:
Goaltender Christopher Marsillo quietly turned in a stellar effort for the Reapers, stopping 28 of 30 shots to backstop the win. Postgame Breakdown
