Papermen Power Past Sasquatch, 7–2, Behind Breon and Loughlin’s Two-Goal Night

November 1, 2025- Olympia Ice Center, West Springfield, MA

The Holyoke Papermen bounced back in a big way Saturday night, cruising to a 7–2 win over the Salem Sasquatch in a penalty-filled affair at home. Behind multi-goal performances from Max Breon and Danny Loughlin, Holyoke controlled the pace from start to finish, outshooting Salem 48–44 and keeping the crowd energized through all three periods.

Goaltender Omar Natour stood tall for the Papermen, turning aside 42 of 44 shots for the win.

The Papermen wasted no time setting the tone offensively. At 6:56, Max Breon opened the scoring off a crisp feed from Max Moriarty, giving Holyoke the early lead.

Just a few minutes later, Danny Loughlin doubled the advantage, burying a setup from Doug Sattler and Cody Cleveland at 12:22 to make it 2–0.

Right before the horn, Breon struck again — this time shorthanded at 19:59, giving Holyoke a commanding 3–0 lead heading into intermission and quieting any Salem momentum.

The Sasquatch finally broke through early in the second. On the power play at 7:59, Andrew Contrada found the back of the net with helpers from John Hamilton and Evan Clark, trimming the deficit to 3–1.

But just a minute later, Loughlin responded for Holyoke with his second of the night to make it 4–1. Contrada added another for Salem at 9:39 — his second goal of the night — to keep his team within striking distance at 4–2, but that would be the end of the Sasquatch scoring.

The middle frame also saw the game’s physicality ramp up, with multiple roughing and boarding calls on both sides as tempers flared.

Holyoke’s offense surged again in the third. Noah Hemenway scored twice — at 6:13 and 15:01 — while Max Moriarty added one of his own at 13:41, assisted by Brody Trew and Loughlin, to blow the game wide open at 7–2.

From there, it was all about composure and goaltending. Natour turned aside a barrage of late shots, while the Papermen defense held Salem to just nine shots in the final period.
