REAPERS ROLL PAST MALLARDS IN 9–4 ROUT
November 15, 2025- New England Sports Village, Attleboro, MA
The Hudson Valley Reapers came out flying and never let up, overpowering the Norfolk Mallards 9–4 in a high-octane matchup Saturday night at the New England Sports Village. Led by an offensive masterclass from Brett Jackson and a special teams unit firing on all cylinders, the Reapers put up their biggest scoring night of the season.
The Reapers wasted no time establishing control, striking first at 8:13 when Brett Jackson buried a rebound off a Robert Clerc feed. Just five minutes later, Jackson struck again—this time on the power play—finishing off a sharp pass from Clerc once more.
The momentum snowballed as Ethan Bowman joined the party at 15:57, ripping one from the slot after a slick setup by none other than Clerc. Norfolk managed to stop the bleeding momentarily with a goal by David Duffy at 17:03, assisted by Scott Isbell, but before the period could end, Clerc added a power play goal of his own—assisted by Jackson—to push the lead to 4–1.
Norfolk's Nolan Shaw cut the lead to 4–2 early in the second period, but Reapers' forward Justin Geigel responded less than a minute later to restore the three-goal lead. Fifteen seconds after that, the Reapers struck again with a brilliant passing play finished by Clerc, his second of the night, assisted by Ethan Bowman and Brett Jackson.
The Mallards did claw back, scoring twice in the middle of the period—a power play marker from Jack Halloran and an even-strength strike by Danila Belov—but that momentum was smothered when Jackson sealed his hat trick (and then some) with a third power play goal at 18:08, again from Clerc.
Reapers bench boss didn’t loosen the reins in the final frame, and the team added two more goals to their tally. Jackson netted his fourth of the game at 3:58 after a feed from Gino Santaguida, while Clerc sealed his hat trick + 5-point night at 16:57, beating the Mallards' netminder from the right circle after a smooth setup from—you guessed it—Jackson.
Mallards goaltender Andrew LoRusso faced a barrage of 53 shots but couldn’t overcome the Reapers’ continuous pressure. Hudson’s Jack Messing, on the other hand, was solid in net, turning back 30 of 34 shots to earn the win.
