Reapers’ Second-Period Surge Secures Road Win Over Sasquatch

November 22, 2025- Salem Icenter, Salem, NH

What began as a back-and-forth offensive duel turned into a decisive Hudson Valley takeover, as the Reapers defeated the Salem Sasquatch 8–4 on Saturday night at the Salem Ice Center. The game featured 89 combined shots, 47 saves from the Sasquatch duo, and a parade to the penalty box as both teams fought to keep control in a chaotic contest.

The Sasquatch struck first just 3:19 into the contest. Eric McDermott opened the scoring with a clean even-strength finish off feeds from Tucker Twardosky and Ricky Kramer, giving Salem the early jump. But Hudson Valley punched back. At 7:23, Taylor Traenkle buried a shorthanded break, assisted by Max Henry, tying the game 1–1 and shifting momentum the Reapers’ way.

Salem regained the lead at 12:03, when Twardosky scored his own even-strength goal, with Kramer and McDermott returning the favor on the assists. Moments later, the Reapers answered again. Gavin Frack netted a quick-strike tally at 13:10 (assists Robert Clerc and Traenkle), knotting the game 2–2.

Hudson Valley then grabbed their first lead of the night at 16:00 as Edward Cho finished off a setup from Alex Tsymbalyuk and Henry.

Before the period could close, Salem struck back. With just 16 seconds left, Cody Woodward hammered home a power-play goal (assists Max Campbell, McDermott) to send the teams to intermission tied 3–3.

The Reapers regained the lead at 4:22 of the 2nd when Trevor Souza converted an even-strength opportunity from Frack. Salem’s response came quickly. At 5:54, Ricky Kramer tied the game 4–4 on the power play, finishing a crisp passing play from John Hamilton and Twardosky. But that would be the final push from the Sasquatch.

From that point forward, Hudson Valley unleashed a 3-goal barrage:

  • 7:27Traenkle scored his second of the game (assists Clerc, Frack) to restore the Reapers’ lead.
  • 12:14Clerc added a power-play goal, fed by Kyle Horsa and Charlie Wemyss.
  • 18:31Wemyss finished the period with an even-strength tally set up by Cho, stretching the margin to 7–4.
  •

Hudson Valley put the game fully out of reach at 4:14 of the third, when Clerc scored his second of the night (assists Frack, Henry), making it 8–4.
