Sasquatch Blank Mallards 6–0 Behind Tetreault’s Perfect Night

December 6, 2025- New England Sports Village, Attleboro, Ma

The Salem Sasquatch delivered one of their most complete performances of the season Saturday evening at New England Sports Village, shutting out the Norfolk Mallards 6–0 in a game dominated by structured defense, timely scoring, and a standout effort in net. Salem controlled the pace from the opening puck drop, outshooting Norfolk 48–30 and holding the Mallards scoreless on nine power-play opportunities.

Goaltender Hunter Tetreault was flawless, turning aside all 30 shots he faced to secure the shutout, while Salem’s top skaters delivered balanced scoring at even strength, on the penalty kill, and with the man advantage.

After a tight, fast-moving opening stretch, the Sasquatch broke through at 13:00 when Justin Pitari buried the game’s first goal off a setup from Brendan Young and Tom Tracy. Salem kept the pressure on and doubled the lead just over two minutes later as James Willett finished a crisp passing play from Andrew Contrada and Brett Silva.

Salem entered the locker room with a 2–0 edge and an 18–8 shot advantage, foreshadowing the possession-heavy night to come.

Pitari struck again at 5:24, finishing another chance created by Young and Tracy to extend the lead to 3–0. Salem’s penalty killers then delivered a major blow midway through the frame.

Short-handed at 14:15, Andrew Contrada forced a turnover and raced the length of the ice, beating the Norfolk netminder for a highlight-reel goal. Young picked up the assist—his third of the night.

Despite four penalties in the period, the Sasquatch maintained full control, outshooting the Mallards 19–8 and heading into the third with a 4–0 cushion.

Salem put the game away late in the third with two more goals in quick succession. At 17:57, Contrada netted his second of the night, this time on the power play, with Young once again providing the helper. Less than a minute later, Young added a goal of his own at 18:39, finishing a feed from John Hamilton to cap off a dominant performance.

The Mallards continued to struggle with discipline, taking six penalties in the final frame, while Salem’s defensive structure and goaltending held strong to complete the shutout.

Hunter Tetreault earned the win with a 30-save shutout, while Norfolk’s Justin Koulalis stopped 42 of 48 shots in the loss.
